This is a photograph of Carlisle Cathedral, a view from the 14th-century choir looking towards the east window – one of the finest examples of Flowing Decorated tracery. The barrel wooden ceiling has been recently repainted.
As a general rule I never quite know what I am going to photograph and often it is the "shot in passing" that produces the most pleasing results. I have to confess to being as hooked on the post-shot processing techniques as I am on framing the original picture and probably spend far too much time digitally processing photographs. Once in a while I like to include a humorous image just to mix things up a bit and hopefully make people, if not laugh out loud, at least smile. Please note that the FAA watermark does not appear on purchased images.
